SUNSET PLACE
DESIGN ARCHITECT
RESTAURANTS, MEETINGS & SOHO, SUNSET ROAD, KUTA, BALI BY CASABLANCA REALTY
Sunset Place is a mixed-use development concept located along the busy Sunset Road corridor in Kuta, Bali. Conceived in 2013, the project brings together restaurants, meeting facilities, and SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) spaces into a cohesive urban destination that responds to Kuta’s commercial intensity and lifestyle-driven market.
As Concept Architect, the role focused on defining the overall vision, spatial structure, and experiential narrative of the project. The concept emphasizes active street engagement, with porous edges, visible retail fronts, and shaded pedestrian zones that invite interaction while managing traffic flow and access along the arterial road.
Architecturally, the proposal adopts a contemporary tropical urban language, integrating shaded arcades, terraces, and landscaped buffers to mitigate heat and noise while creating comfortable public realms. Program zoning is carefully layered—public dining at ground level, flexible meeting spaces above, and SOHO units positioned to balance accessibility with privacy.
Sunset Place is envisioned as a work–meet–dine hub for Kuta’s growing business and creative community, offering flexibility, visibility, and everyday usability. As a concept-stage project, it demonstrates an approach to urban mixed-use architecture that prioritizes place-making, climatic responsiveness, and commercial viability within one of Bali’s most active urban corridors.
