RIVERSIDE RESORT – ANTAP
Riverside Resort – is a hospitality concept developed in 2022, envisioned as a river-oriented retreat that celebrates water, landscape, and calm spatial experiences. Set along a river edge, the concept positions architecture as a gentle mediator between built form and nature, allowing the river to become the emotional and spatial heart of the resort.
The masterplan emphasizes a pavilion-based composition, where individual buildings are arranged around water bodies, terraces, and landscaped platforms. Circulation is choreographed through bridges, decks, and transitional walkways, creating a slow and deliberate arrival sequence that enhances the sense of retreat and immersion. The relationship between solid ground and water is carefully balanced, reinforcing serenity and visual continuity.
Architecturally, the resort adopts a contemporary tropical vernacular inspired by traditional Indonesian pavilions. Steeply pitched roofs, timber columns, elevated floors, and open-sided spaces are combined to promote natural ventilation, climatic comfort, and strong indoor–outdoor connections. Stone retaining walls and layered terraces anchor the buildings to the site, responding to topography while expressing permanence and craft.
Water elements—reflecting pools, channels, and the adjacent river—are integral to the spatial experience, offering cooling effects, visual calm, and a rhythmic dialogue between architecture and landscape. Guest accommodations and communal spaces are conceived as quiet, understated structures, allowing nature, water, and light to take precedence.
As a concept-stage project, Riverside Resort – Antap reflects an architectural approach rooted in restraint, place sensitivity, and experiential quality—where hospitality design is not about dominance, but about framing moments of stillness, reflection, and connection with the natural environment.
