CENCEPT ARCHITECT
PERUMAHAN BRI AT PEKAN BARU – DESIGN BID
Perumahan BRI Pekanbaru is a design-bid residential housing concept developed in 2022 as part of Bank BRI’s employee and community housing initiative in Pekanbaru. The proposal was conceived to deliver a cost-efficient, climate-responsive, and identity-driven housing model suitable for tropical urban living.
The concept emphasizes clarity, repetition, and buildability, organizing homes in a linear row-house configuration that supports efficient land use and phased construction. A strong roof rhythm—expressed through repeated steep gable forms—creates a recognizable architectural identity while responding effectively to Pekanbaru’s high rainfall and hot-humid climate.
Architecturally, the design blends contemporary simplicity with tropical logic. Elevated roof profiles, deep overhangs, operable windows, and shaded balconies promote natural ventilation and daylight while reducing heat gain. Facade articulation is achieved through proportional openings, vertical elements, and restrained material contrasts, ensuring visual interest without excessive cost.
At the neighborhood scale, boundary walls, gateways, and landscape elements are designed to establish a clear residential character and sense of security, while maintaining openness and community presence. The overall proposal balances institutional identity, livability, and economic feasibility, aligning with BRI’s values and long-term housing objectives.
As a design-bid concept, Perumahan BRI Pekanbaru demonstrates an approach to housing architecture that is pragmatic yet thoughtful—where repetition becomes identity, and simplicity supports comfort, durability, and scalability.
