KRIYA SPA AT GRAND HYATT BALI IN COLLABORATION WITH SHIMIZU. INTERIOR BY SUPER POTATO
Kriya Spa at Grand Hyatt Bali is a distinguished wellness facility developed as part of the Grand Hyatt Bali resort, representing a refined collaboration between international expertise and Balinese cultural expression. The project brings together architectural coordination with Shimizu Corporation and interior design by Super Potato, a globally recognized Japanese design studio known for its deep respect for craft, atmosphere, and material authenticity.
The spa concept is rooted in Balinese healing traditions, where architecture, interior space, and ritual come together to create a holistic wellness experience. Spatial planning emphasizes serenity and transition, guiding guests through a sequence of arrival, cleansing, treatment, and reflection spaces. Water elements, natural light, and carefully framed views play a central role in establishing calm and spiritual balance.
Interior design by Super Potato is characterized by the use of natural materials, handcrafted details, and subdued lighting, creating an atmosphere that is intimate, grounded, and deeply connected to local culture. Rather than decorative excess, the design focuses on texture, shadow, and sensory experience—allowing the space to feel timeless and contemplative.
As part of one of Bali’s landmark resorts, Kriya Spa exemplifies a thoughtful integration of luxury wellness, cultural authenticity, and international design collaboration. The project stands as a reference for spa design in tropical hospitality settings, where place, tradition, and refined design sensibility are seamlessly aligned.
