DEVELOPMENT PROJECTY-60 VL BOUTIQUE, KOLUR, INDIA BY MANGAL SHETTY – BANGALORE, INDIA
Kolur Farm and Resort is a development project envisioned as a boutique farm resort comprising 60 villas, located in the rural setting of Kolur, India. Conceived as a destination that blends agriculture, hospitality, and retreat living, the project explores a lifestyle rooted in nature, wellness, and slow living.
The masterplan is structured around the principles of low-density development and land stewardship, allowing villas, farming areas, and communal facilities to coexist harmoniously. Agricultural landscapes, water bodies, and natural contours are integrated into the planning to create an immersive rural experience while preserving the site’s ecological character.
Architecturally, the resort adopts a contemporary vernacular approach, drawing inspiration from local building traditions while incorporating modern comfort and efficiency. Villas are designed to encourage indoor–outdoor living, with shaded verandas, natural ventilation, and strong visual connections to farmland and open landscapes. Materials and construction strategies emphasize durability, climate responsiveness, and a tactile relationship with the environment.
As a farm-based resort development, Kolur Farm and Resort represents a holistic approach to hospitality—where sustainability, experiential living, and community-oriented planning converge. The project is positioned to offer guests and residents a meaningful connection to land and lifestyle, while supporting long-term environmental and economic resilience in a rural Indian context.
