IL HA DO DOSTERO
CONCEPT ARCHITECT
32 VILLAS AT LUANDA, REP. ANGOLA, AFRICA BY MRS. ISABEL DOKOLO
Ilha do Dóstero is a residential development comprising 32 private villas located in Luanda, Angola. Conceived as an exclusive, low-density enclave, the project responds to its coastal urban context by offering privacy, comfort, and contemporary living within a secure residential setting.
The masterplan emphasizes clear spatial organization and controlled density, allowing each villa to enjoy adequate setbacks, landscaped surroundings, and a strong sense of individuality while remaining part of a cohesive residential community. Circulation and access are carefully planned to balance privacy with ease of movement and security.
Architecturally, the villas adopt a contemporary tropical-modern language, shaped by clean forms, functional layouts, and climate-responsive strategies suited to Luanda’s coastal environment. Shaded outdoor areas, terraces, and generous openings are integrated to enhance natural light, ventilation, and indoor–outdoor living.
As a residential development, Ilha do Dóstero reflects an approach that combines urban sophistication with residential comfort, translating international living standards into an Angolan context. The project represents a thoughtful balance between exclusivity, livability, and long-term residential value.
