BERAWA RESIDENCE – CANGGU BALI
Berawa Residence is a contemporary private residential concept developed in 2022, located in the dynamic coastal neighborhood of Berawa, Canggu. Conceived as a modern tropical urban home, the project responds to Canggu’s evolving character—where residential living, lifestyle, and architectural experimentation intersect.
The concept explores a layered spatial composition, organizing the house into distinct yet interconnected volumes. Living spaces are elevated and oriented to enhance privacy, natural light, and cross-ventilation, while semi-open terraces and balconies create fluid transitions between indoor and outdoor environments. A linear water element and landscaped buffers are integrated at ground level, softening the street interface and contributing to thermal comfort.
Architecturally, Berawa Residence adopts a clean contemporary language, contrasting solid planes with open voids and shaded overhangs. Flat roofs, cantilevered elements, and generous glazing express modernity, while proportions and spatial sequencing remain grounded in tropical living principles. The design balances openness with enclosure, allowing the residence to feel both expressive and livable within a dense residential context.
As Concept Architect, the focus was on establishing a strong architectural identity and spatial framework that supports modern family living, flexibility of use, and long-term relevance. Berawa Residence reflects an approach to residential design that is urban, climate-responsive, and lifestyle-driven, aligning contemporary form-making with the everyday realities of living in Canggu.
