PALAIS PRESIDENTIEL
DED LEAD ARCHITECT
PALAIS PRESIDENTIEL – DE LA REPLUBIQUE DU NIGER – ZONE 1, NIAMEY – NIGER BY PT. WIJAYA KARYA – JAKARTA
Palais Présidentiel de la République du Niger is a national-scale government project located in Zone 1, Niamey, serving as the official presidential complex of the Republic of Niger. In 2022, HST Architect was appointed as DED (Detailed Engineering Design) Lead Architect, responsible for translating the approved architectural concept into a comprehensive, buildable design.
The DED scope focused on ensuring technical rigor, constructability, and coordination across architectural, structural, MEP, security, and landscape systems. Particular attention was given to precision in detailing, material specification, and integration with engineering requirements—critical for a high-security, high-profile civic building.
Architecturally, the palace complex expresses dignity, authority, and national identity, while responding to Niamey’s Sahelian climate. Design development incorporates climate-responsive strategies such as controlled façades, shaded courtyards, thermal massing, and clear zoning to balance ceremonial functions, administrative efficiency, and security protocols.
As DED Lead Architect, the role required close collaboration with PT. Wijaya Karya and multidisciplinary consultants to maintain design intent while meeting international construction standards and local regulations. The project stands as an example of large-scale public architecture delivery, where symbolism, performance, and technical execution converge to serve the civic and governmental needs of a nation.
