Sawarno Villa Residence is a private residential project in Bali designed in 2013, with HST Architect appointed as Design Architect. Conceived as a personal retreat, the villa reflects a thoughtful balance between contemporary living, tropical responsiveness, and personal comfort, tailored to the lifestyle of its owner.
The design emphasizes clarity of spatial organization and privacy, arranging living, private, and service zones to support both everyday living and occasional entertaining. Courtyards, terraces, and transitional spaces are integrated to enhance natural light, cross-ventilation, and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor environments—key principles in Balinese residential architecture.
Architecturally, the villa adopts a contemporary tropical language, characterized by clean lines, generous overhangs, and the use of natural materials that age gracefully in a tropical climate. The composition prioritizes human scale and understated elegance, allowing the architecture to feel calm, refined, and enduring rather than overtly expressive.
As a private villa residence, Sawarno Villa Residence represents an approach to residential design that values personalization, climatic comfort, and contextual sensitivity, translating architectural intent into a home that is both functional and emotionally grounded in its Balinese setting.
