HILL TOP VILLA AT SELONG BELANAK, LOMBOK BY MR. MICHAEL MARTIN
Michael Hill Top Villa is a private hilltop residence overlooking the sweeping bay of Selong Belanak, Lombok. Positioned on elevated terrain, the villa is conceived as a secluded retreat that captures panoramic ocean and landscape views while preserving privacy and a close relationship with nature.
The design responds sensitively to the site’s topography and tropical climate, arranging spaces along the natural contours to minimize land disturbance and optimize natural ventilation. Primary living areas are oriented toward the horizon, complemented by generous terraces and shaded outdoor spaces that support relaxed indoor–outdoor living and frame the surrounding scenery.
Architecturally, the villa adopts a contemporary tropical expression, balancing clean, understated forms with climate-responsive features such as deep overhangs, open plans, and natural materials. The composition allows the building to sit lightly within the landscape, offering comfort, durability, and timeless character.
